INDUWHITE® – White, reimagined.

Power distribution units used outdoors should ideally be installed in shaded locations. However, this is not always possible, especially when changing sun positions throughout the day make consistent shading difficult to achieve.

In such situations, the colour of the enclosure plays a crucial role. White enclosures reflect a greater proportion of solar and UV radiation, while dark-coloured enclosures absorb more radiant energy and convert it into heat.

INDUWHITE® is specifically designed to take advantage of this physical principle.

The white enclosure reduces the absorption of radiant energy and therefore limits enclosure heat build-up. This provides greater flexibility when selecting installation locations, particularly where shading is impractical or can only be achieved with considerable effort.

A white surface alone does not make a material suitable for professional power distribution units.

If the advantages of a light-coloured enclosure were the only consideration, power distribution units would have been manufactured from white plastics decades ago. The reality, however, is far more complex. Conventional white plastics often fail to meet the demanding requirements for durability, safety and long-term performance in professional applications.

The challenge was therefore not simply to make a plastic white. The challenge was to develop a white material that meets our standards.

With THERMOLENE®, INDU-ELECTRIC has been setting standards in enclosure materials for professional power distribution units for decades. From the outset, our goal for INDUWHITE® was clear: to combine the advantages of a white enclosure with the high material quality and performance standards our customers expect from INDU-ELECTRIC.

The result of years of material development is INDUWHITE® – a purpose-developed material that makes the advantages of a white enclosure available for professional power distribution units for the first time.

One of the key development objectives of INDUWHITE® was to achieve long-term UV and colour stability. Many light-colored plastics turn yellow under prolonged UV exposure or develop typical signs of aging over time, such as brittleness, cracking and reduced material performance.

INDUWHITE® was specifically developed for long-term outdoor use. Extensive laboratory testing simulated decades of intense sunlight and UV exposure on the material surface.

The result: INDUWHITE® retains its white appearance and material properties. This preserves both its bright appearance and its physical and technical properties for years to come.

The advantages of a white surface should never come at the expense of safety. That is why INDUWHITE® was designed from the outset not only for its optical and thermal properties, but also to meet the requirements of professional electrical applications.

INDUWHITE® combines the advantages of a reflective white surface with high standards of fire protection and safety. The result is a material solution for professional power distribution units that places performance and safety at the heart of its design.

UL 94 V-0 fire classification and GWFI 960°C

INDUWHITE® is flame-retardant and self-extinguishing. The material achieves the UL 94 V-0 flammability classification and meets the relevant requirements of DIN EN IEC 60695. With a Glow Wire Flammability Index (GWFI) of 960°C, it offers outstanding resistance to thermal stress.

Halogen-free material for sensitive applications

INDUWHITE® is completely halogen-free. In the event of a fire, no corrosive halogen gases are released. This is particularly important where people, valuable equipment or critical assets must be protected and where building conditions may restrict the escape of fire gases.

INDUWHITE® combines properties that are rarely found together in white plastics:

• reduced heat build-up through reflection instead of strong absorption
• UV resistance and long-term colour stability
• flame-retardant and self-extinguishing material behaviour
• completely halogen-free material composition
• high mechanical strength
